Our Founder's Journey

Marcia Armstead has spent her life serving others through education, caregiving, and her Christian faith. Influenced early by her mother, a Supervisor of Nurses in the geriatric field, Marcia developed a deep respect and compassion for the elderly.

She holds a Master’s degree and has spent 37 years teaching students of all ages. During the COVID pandemic, she also opened and operated a registered daycare, providing dependable care for families during a difficult season.

Certified in CPR and First Aid, Marcia founded The Elder Nanny out of a lifelong passion for helping others. Guided by her faith and a heart for service, she is committed to providing compassionate, respectful care that honors the dignity and value of every senior.

Our Mission

Faith-Rooted Care for Mind, Body, and Spirit

At The Elder Nanny, our mission is to provide compassionate, faith-based non-medical care that honors the spiritual and physical well-being of you or someone you love. We focus on protecting dignity and independence through loyal companionship and reliable practical assistance. Our heart is to partner with you and your family, offering a positive, uplifting path forward that helps every person in our care feel cherished, supported, and truly at home within their faith.

In everyday visits, that mission looks practical as well as spiritual. We might prepare a simple meal, help with grocery lists and shopping, offer gentle medication reminders, or tidy up the home so it feels safe and comfortable. We also spend time being present—playing board games or cards, watching a favorite show together, enjoying fresh air at the park, or sharing quiet prayer and conversation when it’s wanted—so you or your loved one never feels alone.
